Google Products - Value too long in attribute: Description

I've just noticed in google merchant centre that a new product I added has not been inserted because of an error, which is kind of annoying as it's probably the most important product in there!

    The error I'm getting is
Value too long in attribute: Description
The attribute value is longer than allowed. Please provide a shorter value.
So basically the google feed export is putting the contents of 'additional content' into the 'description' field, and this product just happens to have a lot of text in the additional content.

This is annoying for a number of reasons -
    1. In the google export I have specifically told it to use the 'short description' for the description, not the additional content. However, it looks like bluepark automatically uses the additional content if the short desc is empty (which it is in this case, and it's not appropriate to put anything in there for this product).
    2. Google apparently can't just ignore the extra text, or chop it off, instead it decides it has to just ignore the whole product.
    3. Bluepark doesn't truncate the text even though it must know the limits to each field value.

So my product is getting ignored because I did what google wants and provided lots of useful content! Grrrrr...

So, rather than me artificially chopping the useful product description on the website down just to meet some stupid character limit on the google feed for a description that doesn't seem to even get used, is it possible for bluepark just to validate the fields and if the value doesn't meet the google requirements just chop the end off until it does...?
Working...
