    ShipTheory v Shipstation

Hi has anyone had any experience with both ShipTheory and Shipstation and tell me which they think is the better option? We currently use ShipTheory which we think works really well however we have another possible integration for Market place orders which we might use soon but they only use Shipstation so I would love some feedback before I make a decision, thanks!

Don’t forget you also have api options if you ever fancied developing as well. We use shiptheory through the api.

The shiptheory customer service is far better in my view… that’s why we picked them

Trying out ship theory but it has a major fail in that c'ustomer comments' in the checkout on bluepark are not imported into ship theory via their api integration , this means their hand written notes feature which would be perfect for gift messages is of no use. A real shame. Also surprised ship theory does not display product locations on picking or packing notes, not much help for finder products !

Am pretty sure it does as I think we send over as a safe place location…. I’ll check.

Edit…. Are you n about the BP / shiptheory integration in the admin panel? We have our own custom set up and so send via the api.
        Regards

Hi, so update on shiptheory although support has been quick they dont support basics for us, it is not possable to list products on a packing sheet by bin/warehouse location/ for them to map blueparks product locations to shiptheory they want £1200 plus vat, this is a basic requirement I would have thought so not impressed with that charge.

Gift messages in the checkout using customer comments field again is not mapped and they want to charge for this plsu charge £50 a month extra to use their "handwritten notes" gift message print option.

A real shame, why any system fails to use locations for pick bins and list them in alphabeticle order is beyond me
I have spoken with Selro, Shiptheory and Lynnworks and none of them support bin locations in alphabeticle order on a individual packing sheet
Grouped pick lists yes but we dont all use those

On the plus side Bluepark does print locations on its pick lists per order level but it does not integrate with our couriers apart from Royal mail

And why does nobody support decent printing of gift messages , how many people by a hamper or gift and send a gift message with it ? literally thousands every day
I would love to see any of these systems impalement a simple 'Print Gift Message ' button to their system that takes the data from the order under gift message and prints it to a separate printer of your choosing
Rant over, just wasted several days trying to get shiptheory to work

why not build your own and get it exactly how you want it? Honestly having our custom software written was best thing we did, it may have cost £5k over the last 10 years, but has saved us many times that in time.

or could it possibly be all done thru zapier?.. and sent in via api…. You are in control of what data goes where then.
            Regards

ShipTheory is great if you're already using it and it's working well for you.

Have been using ship theory now fog almost two years, works well most of the time. It does have an issue with bluepark additions though as it does not show them on picking lists , this is due to additions in bluepark not having a SKU. One to be aware of if you plan on using additions .

We have 2 BluePark sites, Shiptheory, and 2 Mailerlite accounts all connected via api through a central web booking system. Works well. Shiptheory support is top notch I must say!

Did you ever solve your gift card issue?
                  Regards
