Despatch Note missing number, date etc.

Is anyone else having a problem with despatch notes today? Our's are printing out without any of the date, delivery and date detail.

No amendments at all. I have noticed this happen before on the occasional despatch note. But today it is every one! Wouldn't you just know that a glitch would find its way in at our busiest time.

Hi Dave,

In short no. The info is there if I select the print icon. It is only in the PDF version that it is sometimes not there. And today was worse than in the past with it missing from every despatch note. I prefer to use the PDF version because it looks better and the text is bigger so I can use the folded despatch note in a document holder on the package instead of printing a label. The alternative is to click the print icon and copy the contents and then convert to a pdf on my own system, but I just don't have the time to do it. I have read somewhere that Rich said the PDF conversion was fragile... and I guess that must be the reason. I am just curious why it should suddenly get much worse.

That is so weird and I really don't understand why it's not working unless Rich is tinkering with the system!

If it still persists tomorrow perhaps drop Rich an e-mail unless you have already done that.

On the plus side it sounds like you are busy

PS Did you sort out where all the additional traffic had come from the other week?

I've only looked at this briefly, but I think it might be the length of one of your named delivery methods. Or, it could be the pound sign. It might be worth testing with some custom HTML, you could "hard code" the delivery name in and try altering it.

Rich has joined in and when I have a mo, I'll have a go at his suggestions. Right now it is wonderfully busy... ... so I am just having to make do with the problem.

Thanks to Rich. I tried reducing the description size of the shipping options and it worked. So no need to do the HTML - phew!
