I'm glad that the new feature is being well received.

The EasyEdit bar at the top is designed to stay on now, when you're logged into the Admin Console. It's only a few pixels high and doesn't obscure any of the page. When you turn the icons off, you're viewing the page as the customer will. It will continue to give you information as to which template, layout and blocks are being used on the page you're viewing.

If you're seeing something which doesn't look "right", then it might be an issue with your browser or JavaScript setup (the technology uses JavaScript). Make sure your Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari are updated to the latest versions and that JavaScript is enabled.

If you're having a problem in IE, for example, then try Firefox (or vice versa). The system is designed to work with a resolution of 1024x768 or higher (higher is better).

If you're confident that you're using the latest versions of your software, then please send a screenshot of the issue to our support email address.

I love it! I love the way you can create a new product from the site it's self.

Well done Rich, it is great. Thank you.

I admit to being the most paranoid person on here - every time my old hosts did an update something went hideously wrong - it was awful! I was secretly fretting at you putting a major update on but this is brill!

          Is that it....

only joking, I can see this being used a lot. Previously, easy edit was only used a little as you always found yourself going back to main admin site to edit. We can now make changes that are needed as we see them.

          Well done.

P.S. Just a little thing I noticed, my block lists are very long for the left and right columns and the drop down menu does'nt fit on the screen (and I have a 24" monitor), there appears to be no way of scrolling it down. It's only a small point to polish perfection!

I'm sure it was a lot of hard work Rich, but why? all this was easy enough already using 2 screens and it just looks like gimmickry.
We are not changing layouts and templates every day, what we really need are functions that aid selling that are missing from BP and commonplace on other platforms such as BigCxxxerce etc.,
What we need is a decent Search facility for customers, such as an Ajax suggest search and things like a search cloud for SEO and integration with fulfilment programs or Amazon/Ebay etc., and built in feeds for promotion and comparison sites and social networking sites.
I still think Bluepark is brilliant but I don't think the priority should have been given to a facility to drag and drop boxes from one side to the other (instead of a few clicks).

I can understand where John is coming from, in fact we are in need of features as he suggests and perhaps an added CRM module. I will add that we will find the easy edit screen useful as we have a lot of textual content and being able to edit 'on the fly' is incredibly useful.

Trouble is, the priorities depend where Bluepark see there market is at. Once we get past being a first time user there's always going to be a need for more. We have found Bluepark fantastic for reliability and the fact it just 'works', I would hate to have to use anything else.

Perhaps what we want is another package like Bluepark 'Platinum'!

If it's prioritising features we need then perhaps these could be put to a vote. There have been some great suggestions on this forum - so perhaps over to Rich?

Seems to have sorted itself now. I have noticed in Firefox that the easyedit bar is not there for me - not sure why? I use IE8 so not an issue for us.

Although the much awaited update will be of very little use to the seasoned Blueparker, I would imagine that the key benefit is to Bluepark.

I am sure that most support issues are centred around the 'how do I xyz...?' therefore the update will allow Bluepark to concentrate more on the features that as John points out, are needed.

I really disagree with you. I think that the way searches are changing keeping the site fresh and adding and changing content has to be a priority and personally anthing that makes that easier for me really helps.

Ebay/Amazon features for me personally would be defunct although I agree built in feeds would be an advantage. As would a few changes to the orders/users interfaces so that we can easily see a person's orders within their user profile (or at least have a link to them).

Each individual user is always going to have their own set of needs and no system is going to cater universally to everyone.

I have used ICS (BCs original paid for version) and quite frankly despite it being all singing and supposedly all dancing too it is not VAT compliant as I believe BC isn't (although I've not tried it) so bringing them up as a shining example of anything is quite frankly ludicrous! I've also had bespoke ecommerce sites and used three other providers. Bluepark knocks spots off all of them including the bespoke sites that were written specifically for us.

I've been watching your posts for a while and it seems to me that you have a deep rooted dissatisfaction with BP. I got like that with my last hosts and it didn't matter what they did, for me it wasn't going to be enough ... that is when I realised it was time to move on. Maybe you have reached the stage where you need to think about going bespoke? I really honestly mean that in the nicest possible way and based on personal experience.

                        Rich

I'm trying to edit a product title but I can't work out how to save it? On the other easy edit sections there is a tick to confirm the changes but there doesn't seem to be on the product title - is that right? If not how do I save the changes I make?

Also is there a way to activate the live chat from within the easy edit options? I can see that we can view site stats but there isn't the little green balloon to activate the chat without going into the admin console - that would be quite handy!

Perhaps when you've been with BP a little bit longer you may realise that we all have an opinion and not throw your toys out of the pram when someone doesn't totally agree with yours.

I have been with Bluepark for years and have discussed and co-operated with Rich quite a lot in the changes and improvements that have been made. I have also spent a lot of hours getting Linnworks and BP to work together and working with Rich to make the changes needed for that.
Rich and I agree to disasgree on some things and I appreciate his reasons for this change to the Edit suite, I just don't agree that it should be a priority, that is my right.
I did not bring up any other package as a shining example, just mentioned one to indicate the features that were becoming commonplace and were needed by Bluepark to stay ahead of the competition (which I believe is where they belong).
Perhaps with the new Easy Edit you might be able to get your 5teel site (moving January 2010) finished by 2011, by the way, don't rely on any shopping cart software to get your VAT correct, none (in BP) ever do.

Like the new changes, this will make life much easier for new member to BP.

Question - Is there a feature that allows you to duplicate a prodcut listing ? I can see the create new prodcut button but nothing to allow me to duplicate a listing. As a lot f our products are similar then it makes sense to duplicate a prodcut and them make the small about of changes needed.

Also does anyone know when and if there will be Linnworks integration available ? We are looking to start using it soon.

                              Cheers
