How do I do this to an email I want to send via email manager?

I want to send an email but the wording is spread over the entire length of the mail so it looks really unprofessional. I would like to contain it all in 'a box' of a certain size so everyone sees the same on the email, but I've also got pictures and links in the mail. The ones I get from my competitors are all contained and have colour beind them.

I hope this makes sense, can anyone enlighten me on how I do something like this please. I am a real novice so baby steps would be helpful please, once I learn how to do it I'll be fine.

You could create the text as an image and then upload it into the email that way and then you could have all the other images at the same size as the text image.

or you can creat a table of one block and put the text in that?? to create the table in wysiwyg the button is just about the text colour button second up on the left

Personally I would not create the text as an image because this can cause problems if the images get blocked by firewalls, e-mail settings etc. At least if you use plain text the recipient will see something!

Try using tables and cells to insert your images and text.

Dave is right, use real text where possible. Outlook tends to block images so the user has to click to download them, if your email has nothing but images they'll essentially see nothing and most people won't bother to download to see if it's of interest. If there's some text there, it will at least give them some indication of what they might see once they download the images.

HTML email delivery is notoriously difficult as you are essentially trying to deliver a web page within a webpage and there can be all sorts of css conflicts not to mention some email programs will strip out background images etc etc.

Using tables is the best way to go but fix your table width to around 500-600 pixels. I'll warn you now though that you're probably entering into a world of frustration and aggravation though...sorry!

I have already been experimenting with tables and now use them to put the images into (otherwise I had trouble getting them the way I wanted them), can I have a table within a table? I did not think of this.

Actually, I could use a table for the text as well. and then everything will be the size that I want it.

I feel daft for having asked but at least it meant I figured it out in the end.

Thanks again, I've just done a 1 x 2 table and put both text and photo onto different sides which looks better. Can you tell me how I can get the text into the middle of the box and with a space each side. At the moment the text almost touches the picture. If I use the indent it only moves it from the left, not the right, so it is not central. I guess I could use a 1 x 4 table and use the 2nd and 4th tbale to get the text how I want it. Any ideas?

I tend to use the one email that I really like as a template so hopefully I'll only have to do it once...... hopefully!!

To create some space around things you need to adjust either the cell padding. Yes you can put a table within a table - this is definitely the way to do it.

Thanks for all the info, I have something that actually is working now.

I do have another question though, is it possible to put a border around the table within the table and give it a curved edge on the corners?

It's possible to do the border - pull up the table dialog box and just under where the cell padding and spacing is, it should say border 0...make that border 1 and you'll have a border. You can change the colour of the border just below that.

Sadly it's not possible to do curved corners using tables.
