Being able to see the admin comments from a user account on each order that they subsequently place is exactly what I was going to request myself. Would be very handy.

Blimy, this thread took some reading.

We think we would make use of almost all the ideas brought up here.

We do need a way to flag up events, such as when awaiting for an item on an order, before the complete order can be despatched.

What we would like is some sort of communications history against each customer along with a follow up date. The follow up date should flag up when the date has been reached (perhaps when logging in to the admin system), so that action can be taken. Each entry could be linked to an order, or just customer note with a defined action (call back, email etc.).

      Regards

It sounds like you need a comprehensive OMS like the one from Stone Edge, you can't really expect Bluepark to have all these features, it is after all an e-commerce shopping basket solution, albiet a bloody good one.

If Rich was to have all the bells and whistles that something like Stone Edge has, he would need an army of developers (and lots of money) to keep up with it.

You can get Stone Edge for $5995 (Sql version, access version a waste of time).

Yep, we have looked at this - a bit OTT at the moment. We have some irritating integration issues at the moment and don't want to add yet another system into what we have already (if we can help it). Our EPOS & Accounts systems do all we need for the B&M side, and we have import/export routines to/from Bluepark. We also have another remote warehouse managment system which is also integrated with our EPOS system. We still have a little too much duplication of work going on at the moment taking orders from Bluepark and sending this through our EPOS system etc. My brain hurts too much with all this to add something else - just trying to find another way?

Stone Adge is expensive because of the compatibility with different platforms, not because of the design of the order interface. It cost a lot of people / money to maintain the realationship with many platform + you pay a lot becuase of the hipe: Low cost software will not usually be taken by large companies - they are too cheap - and that is the silly reality - Large companies need to work with other large companies. It is a combination of egos, lots of money to spend and, personal accountibilities ("I'm covered if something goes wrong - after all, I ordered from a large and known company" kind of mentality).

Richard can build in the 'Events' feature - why not everybody carry on listing here their own 'Wish List Events' to save him time.

I'll go on with my 'Events':
            1. When the 'Shipping Method' is xxxx, flag on xxxxx.
            2. When 'Payment Method' is xxxx, flag on xxxxx.

Blxxdy Hell!, and I thought we had integration probs! we just use BP & Linnworks but I sorely miss our B & M Epos system for sales breakdown info, I'm trying to get similar results from LW and Excel but it's very difficult and not like the two clicks on the old epos system.
I know that eventually we will have to go down the Stone Edge or similar route, unless I can manage to retire before then!! the government wants to increase the retirement age to 66 in 2016. I'll be lucky if I can afford to retire before 70! then I can concentrate on my garden and buy lots more from you! got a real problem with moles in my veg patch digging up the onions, will have to try your Mole repeller after my holiday.

The government don't want us to stop (work that is) - as soon as one goal post is moved they will move it away again!

I've been informed mole smokes are good (http://www.podington.co.uk/mole-cont...le-smokes.html) - they line the underground tunnels with castor oil which they hate - sending them to next doors garden! Other than that - late night with a torch strapped to a shotgun does the trick (I think I've got an original LP with this joke on it)!

To drag this thread up to the past, can i ask if you are considering this Rich.

I could do with a couple of say different coloured flags that i can customise to mean what i want and can be allocated to orders.

For me one would be to delay order, with a field that i can put dates to avoid and would show up if i do a mouseover the flag. It is almost essential that i find a way of doing this.
