Does anyone know if it's possible to stop certain products showing when a customer uses the product search? I have some products on my site that are only available for local delivery but they show up on the search with my national delivery products which is causing a bit of a headache when customers are trying to order them for national delivery.
Any help would be greatly appriciated

As far as I am aware I don't think it is possible to exclude products from the search. Even if it was I assume shoppers would still be able to find these products via the sitemap or category menu.

You could use the Additional Content and Short Description fields on these products to put some narrative up explaining the product is only available for local deliveries to post codes XXXX Etc.

Thanks for your reply Dave, thats what i thought. The local products do have a note on them explaining that they're not available for national delivery so hopefully that will be enough!

We have local delivery only products too. We have used the new 'Product Labels' feature to add a label to all the products which are local delivery only. Also, tinkering with shipping methods we have specified a shipping code of 'L' for these products and have a seperate shipping method for these products. You need to find a way of ensuring all your other shippiung methods will not work with this shipping code. It works a treat!
