Order confirmation Emails

Is there a way of supplying an alternative email address to receive confirmation emails instead of the default address as opposed to in addition to the default email address?

I'm afraid I don't think there is. Order Notification e-mails always get sent to the default e-mail address regardless of whether you have setup additional e-mail addresses.

Our default email address is our main general email address - sales@, we need this so people can reply to emails easily etc. but we don't need to see orders as they don't require action.

But I do like to keep an eye on orders via my Blackberry, (especially out of hours) as it gives me a 'feel' for what's going on.

You could always untick the Order Notification box in the Site-->Configuration-->Order Tab. But then the only way you will know if you have orders is to keep looking at the Order Manager.
