    Downtime?

I'm sure it can't have been just my site that was down for an hour or so today because I couldn't connect to BP at all. As a result, sales were one quarter of the number yesterday.

Haven't noticed any of mine down, staff have been online all day as well.

Can't see how 1 hour downtime would mean only a quarter of the sales either!
    Regards

    Neil.

One our servers was affected by a technical problem with our network provider RapidSwitch (our data centre):

Failure of the switch in the rack

The switch in the rack was replaced restoring connectivity. We apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused.
We're naturally sorry for the downtime experienced. A network switch failure is a possibility for any hosting configuration, although it's admittedly rare.

Please note, this was not a problem with our servers - this was a problem with RapidSwitch's hardware. In their defence, they did identify the problem very quickly and rectified it within a reasonable timeframe (considering the nature of the fault - to replace the hardware and to configure it).

Cant say I noticed my sites being down yesterday but then again I don't constantly monitor them and as the downtime was less than 51 minutes like Neil I am surprised it had such a big impact on your sales. Perhaps yesterday was one of those days when sales dip!

I know it is annoying when sites go down but having used many solutions/hosts over the years none of them have ever had 100% uptime.

        Dave

We were down for a bit yesterday but Rich had it all under control very quickly - less than 20 mins after we contacted him, we were back up.
