Affliate - offline commission tracking - is this possible?

Hello,

I have tried to look through past posts but can find anything.

A friend is going to help us by putting a display of our goods in her shop. Is there a way if she asks people to go our site then she gets commission?

I was thinking of setting up a page eg www.mydomain.com/her_name that she could give out - this would then record her somehow as an affilate

Is this possible?

Hi,
I would try this:

1. - Have an affiliate programme


2. - Your friend subscribes to your affiliate programme and gets her own URL (with her own identifyier as an affiliate)



3. - You use this URL and create a 301 redirect i.e. (RewriteRule ^her_name$ http://www.mydomain.com/here_goes_your _friends_identifyer.html [R=301] )

Sorry to start this up again but I am struggling getting the URL - so say the person doesnt have a website - how do I set them up as an affiliate and get a URL for them?
