Is it possible to link direct to a product description from a subcatergory?

404 Not Found

Only manually by inserting an image (thumbnail version?) and creating a hyperlink to the product page.

You cant create a block with product thumbnails. You can only use the featured products block (or rename it) for that.

Is that what you meant?
