Related Products - addable from page

It doesn't give the drop down to select the exact addable product - is that because the addable product has more than one option?

Yes, the drop-down only appears where there is just one option. It won't display multiple drop-downs for an addable product, in the same way that it will only display one drop-down in the shopping basket.
