Conversion Data

Hi All
I am receiving analytics data regarding visits, bounces etc from my site but not conversion data. On the Config for my site is the heading Google Site Verification which says I need to enter a file ‘Googlexxxxxxx.html’ which is created in the root directory. What is a root directory and where might I find it and is it this that gives me conversion data and if not what does?
Sorry to appear such an idiot but this is a steep learning curve for me.

BP does not allow access to the root directory. However, in your BP admin control panel go into Site-->Configuration-->Site and scroll down looking for "Google Site Verification File" field and enter your "Googlexxxxxxx.html" file name in there.

This is just verifying you are the site owner and I am not sure it will make any difference to your conversion data in analytics. I don't look at the stats because they can drive you mad but maybe someone with more experience could advise why the conversion data is not appearing?

If you are getting visitor stats and not e-commerce stats then the problem may be with the set up between your payment processor and BP. You need to have it set so that the processor returns your customer to BP after the transaction. There is already a "final page" in the BP system and the stats are picked up by Google if the processor is returning your customer. Check your settings on BP and then on your payment processor. They should match.

Also make sure you have only put your GA Number in site-->configuration-->site and have NOT added the source code anywhere. BP already has the GA source code built in and I have seen people in the past duplicating the code which has caused confusion with GA.

Not guaranteeing that would work but I've seen BP sites that show Ecommerce and Conversion figures without having to do anything special in GA apart from turn Ecommerce on. There's nothing extra you can do in Bluepark to make it either work or not. You can also set up goals in GA which is another head scratching activity
