and am waiting for the site to be set up. I have a question about importing products. Does it have to be a csv file? With our current provider, when importing with a csv file it would wipe our product descriptions as these have html formatting in them and a csv file can not read html properly and just sees the column as blank.

Also, can't work out for the life of me how the system completely works, the help file for importing is only a couple of paragraphs long.
Also is there a guide that tells me the correct formatting for each column? I can see from the one I have exported that some fields have 0 or 1 in them? What is the 0 for and what is the 1 for? Is 0 no and 1 yes?Last edited by TIK; 11-01-2012, 19:35. -
0 is false, 1 is true if the field is a flag/switch.
The import won't remove HTML formatting for descriptions/content as far as I'm aware otherwise complete backups/exports would be useless. There is, however, an option in the Advanced tab of the Export to strip out HTML but usually you would not do this. So CSV is alright for importing. Try one and see.Comment

I have been playing and finding it a little more complicated that I am used to, but I think thats just because I am unfamiliar. Is it possible to import categories from a csv file? I have a couple of thousand it will take forever to add manually.Comment

I'm on my way as well (BF - Blooming Felt on EKM) - should be up and running next week
I'm also finding it quite different to EKM, but once you get your head around it ..... it's SO much better.
Just having a bit of an issue with printing out invoices / despatch notes / packing slips as the moment

TIK I copied over the HTML from my second ekm site - it is all there you just need to take a bit of time to get your head around it - I'm a bit of a techy-numpty too and if I can do it I'm sure others can! It is almost like learning to walk again, because the way everything in BP operates is the polar opposite to EKM and it does take time to learn but you will suddenly have a lightbulb moment and it will become clear. I would say that rather than trying to start copying everything over, just play with the templates and have a look at the site configuration - start tweaking and changing the default templates (saving a copy of the original where you can in template manager or making a note of what you've changed in configuration as you go along).Comment

Well well, so many old and present ekm's on here. We are also looking into a move here but we are having a new site designed by Jamie soon and we will decide than, so far it looks good!Comment
