    Adding pages to checkout

Is it possible to add either custom fields to the checkout or add a custom page? We offer customers spending over £10 the chance to add some free samples of their choice at checkout.

Would we be able to set up a page to only display for all orders over £10 within the checkout procedure? currently it is a 3 page procedure so that would make it 4.

If not is it possible to add a custom field to the checkout so the customer can write in what samples they would like to receive?

    Cheers
    Steve

Please have a look at the following

Just wondering if anyone else would find a section in the order process for customers to add PO numbers useful? We have a number of clients who require their PO numbers to appear on the invoice and currently can only add this in the 'comments' box, which does not then show up on their printed/emailed invoice. Cheers Adrian

Wow that is perfect! I had a search before asking the question but obviously did not find an answer and that is exactly the kind of thing I was looking for!

      Thanks again.

I've been trying REALLY hard to work this out myself and am almost there ......

What I want to do is this:

Through the Easter holidays we will be running on a skeleton staff and as such, orders will only be despatched 2-3 times a week instead of every day. I need our customers to be aware of this when placing their orders and to get them to tick a box saying that they understand an agree to the delay. The order won't be accepted unless they tick the box (we used to have this facility with EKM)

So, I've set up a new form in the form manager and also an addition in the addition manager. I've managed to get the wording "Yes, I understand and agree to the delay" into the first page of the checkout process. However, I can't seem to get a line of text in there explaining what the delay is, or to get the tick box visible (even though I've selected tick box"

        Am I missing a stage somewhere ?

        Thanks

Why don't you just enter the dates you won't be delivering on in your shipping manager fulfilment section and then that will tell your customers at the point of placing their order?

          e.g.

          SAT
          SUN
          12/03/2012
          13/03/2012

            Hi Sarah,

For your tick box edit the field and put your text line in the help text field.

            Other ways of doing it.

You could use the shipping manager fulfilment as Red says. However, if you would sooner go into more detail and want the customers acceptance don't use forms but get them to agree to your terms and conditions which you could add the extra delivery info to or create a new page via the page manager.

Then in site-->configuration-->order tab scroll down looking for "Terms & Conditions (URL)" underneath there is a dropdown box titled link. Click on this and select the relevant page whether it be your normal but amended T&C page or a special delivery page. Customers will then have to tick a box saying they have read your terms and conditions.

You could also change the order confirmation e-mails to include this information with a link to the page and then its crystal clear.

Thanks guys. I'm going to do a combination of all 3 ! I've amended the fulfilment details in the shipping manager, I've updated our T&Cs to include details of the despatch delay (customers already have to tick the box to say that they've agreed to our T&Cs before they're allowed through the checkout anyway) and I'm also going to put details in the order confirmation emails. I'll also have it plastered across the top of every page on my site !

It might seem like overkill, but I've been stung too many times in the past and have unfortunately found that customers just don't read anything !!!!!! At least by them having to tick the box to say they agree, it gives us some sort of protection. And our T&Cs aren't that long (well, not compared to some others I've seen!) If customers can't be bothered to read them, then I'm afraid that's their problem

              Thanks for your help
