Conversion Tracking

Hi

Ive already set up the conversion tracker in google adwords so I can work out what percentage of my customers come from adwords clicks but Im wanting to know is there a way to track what percentage of my sales are from organic search results, google base, repeat customers etc

Have to signed up for Google Analytics ? BP has GA tracking code integrated. All you need to do is signup for GA and then enter your GA account number into BP in site-->configuration-->site tab.

Yeah ive done this and Google Analytics shows conversions but when looking up the source of the conversions it only shows (direct) / (none) or paypal.com / referral so I dont know where these sales have come from.

I think this problem is caused by customers having to go off site to pay with secure trading and paypal, does anyone know a way round this problem?

aah I am having the same problem, just setup secure trading and analytics isn't recording sales from it

On Analytics go to Admin > Profile Settings and make sure E-Commerce settings is set to "Yes, an E-Commerce Site".

That setting can sometimes mess with sales, if you still have problems after that I'm uncertain what the problem is, but I'm sure someone who's more experienced with Analytics will be able to help.

It might be something to do with what happens after your customer has completed payment. Are they coming back to your site? If not I don't think GA can pick up the completed sale.

yes they are returning to the site on mine

And my settings were already at E-commerce site = yes

I remember something about this, the customer DOES return to your site but the page is loaded by SecureTrading and is displayed on their server, relative to their domain name.

I think that might be the issue, as the Analytics code thinks it's on ST's site rather than yours.

I can't remember for sure, perhaps IceGems can add some experience to this as I know they use ST.
