adding price into meta description

With the facebook like function effectively pulling your meta description, is there a way of auto inserting items, e.g. "buy a blue widget from bluepark.com for only #PRICE#" so it populates meta with price, so if you change price the meta updates automatically - i would also like to do this on the header.

in fact it would be even better if we could put... "buy a #PRODUCT NAME# from bluepark.com for only #PRICE#" which would equate to: "buy a blue widget from blue park.com for only £10.50"

I asked the same question on the forum back in 2009. It wasn't possible then and nothing has changed since then so at the moment it can't be done.

In addition to be able to do this on the product page it would be great to also be able to done the same thing on the category page. So you could say "blue widgets available from only £xx.xx". However, I expect this would be much more tricky to code as it will need to pick up the cheapest product price in that category.

I did ask Rich about doing this when we changed back from Magxxxo as dynamic Meta titles were one of the most valuable seo tools in Magxxxo, Easywebsxxxx also have this feature so there can't be much to do to integrate it to BP.

Perhaps Rich is still planning it, it would be nice to know what features are coming for BP even if there was no timetable, just an idea of what we could expect.
Now that Actinxc has split and the new owners are concentrating on hosted software there will be increased competition in the Ecommerce Saas world.

Just thought I'd bump this to see if this had happened yet, or at least get it added to any wish list there may be. This would be a pretty good way of making you results stand out if you're listed on the first page of google and you're competitive on price...

Don't think anything has changed on this, the easiest way would be with Excel and 'concatenate' the product name and price into Meta description, shouldn't take more than 20 minutes or so.

All of our products prices are shown in Google's natural results, I believe they are marked up using rich snippets.

This works really well now. Organic results show ratings, price and availability thanks to the built in rich snippets code in Bluepark.
