    E-Mail Contact Query

I have just sent an e-mail newsletter out to "all Users" and one of my customers has come straight back to me, unsubscribing, and also saying that she stated that she didnt want any contact. When I checked her user details, it did say "No Contact"...so, what I am asking, is Why did she receive the e-mail in the first place

If anyone could explain this I would be grateful, because I can see it causing some problems if people state that they dont want any contact, but then get emails

    cheers

I think that when they unsubscribe, their user details are automatically updated to no contact. So if you looked after she unsubscribed, it would show no contact. She probably hadn't ticked the box properly beforehand.

I'm not sure but doesn't their original allow or disallow contact choice always stay the same and if they unsubscribe all that happens is they get added to the unsubscribed list and that gets taken into account by the system before it does the sending?

I might have made that up but that is how I thought it worked.

If the customer unsubscribes then it appears in the User Editor that the customer doesn't allow contact.

I'm fairly certain what happened is that the customer subscribed during the Checkout process without realising (especially if your box is ticked by default, or if you don't show the option during checkout), then they unsubscribed straight away when they received your newsletter, & when you checked her details in the User Editor it had already been updated to show the unsubscription.

The Bluepark Email system is very reliable & doesn't allow marketing emails to be sent to unsubscribed customers. On the rare case something like this happens it's usually the customers error.

The Allow Contact setting is set to No when a registered user unsubscribes.

The Unsubscriptions section is for unregistered email addresses.
