Change layout of Checkout - Account preparation page

Is it possible to change the layout of this page to some thing like this

I'm finding the current page a little untidy and even more so with the new log in with facebook button.

I agree. I don't think it is clear at all, how it currently is. I think the 'check out as guest' option is too easily missed. I worry that people won't see it, they will think they have to register and they may leave.

If I look at the orders in progress who have disappeared, they seem to leave on this page. I do think it is the Checkout as Guest - maybe put somewhere nearer the top and definitely more visible. People do not read and need it slung right under their eyes!

I agree that having the 2 options next to eachother like that is definitely the way to go.

I'm not worried so much about having control of the design, but think the guest option should be up there with the other options.

Yes I agree - it would be much clearer if it was laid out like the one you've shown above.
I have had a customer phone me because she found the checkout confusing and didn't know how to proceed

Yes I also agree, I think the Guest Checkout is not obvious and a side by side option (the example in the first post is great) would be a welcome improvement if it can be done by BP.

The point is it's all on one page, much easier for the customer and it's numbered step 1/2/3 another very good one is the BigCommerxx one with a very clear progression and an auto drop down for next step

They are all an improvement on BP, which is frankly crude and out of date.
