    Customer Type

Has anyone else got another little line in each customer's order (on the right hand side) that says "Customer Type" ? I've just looked at an order and this has appeared with a red heart next to it and the words Returning User (3). Another order has the red heart and the words New User next to it. Is this a valentine's day thing or a permanent fixture ? I like it !!

This has been requested for a while. The icon contains a green + if the customer is new, and links to the User Editor if they are registered.

If the customer is returning, the number of orders is indicated and links to an Order Manager search for that customer.

The heart icon, today of all days, is actually a coincidence - but a nice one all the same.

this is a great feature thanks...

it would be good if we could also have a warning by a customer - if they have 'lost' items in past, or been a pain, so we can cancel the order before dispatch if we decide to.

we have a customer black list of people who have returned every order or order loads and 'loose' 1 in 3 etc.

            cheers

Use the Admin Comments field in the User Editor for this. The ! icon displays in the Order Manager and Processor.

This actually needs to be a bit more 'in your face' the ! isn't that noticeable. A big red caution icon maybe.

Why have a big warning for all admin comments? We make a lot of notes for customers & wouldn't want all of them flagged with warnings just for small points.

Although I would welcome a separate "trouble customer" tick-box which flags certain customers.

Referring back to OP - does this mean there is away or searching customer type so we can identify all people who have only ordered once, or twice, or 20 times??

I know we can export and do it rhough excel but wondered if it could be done actually on BP...

If you look in the Order Manager, all individual orders now state whether they were placed by a New Customer or a Returning Customer, this is highlighted in the bottom right underneath their invoice address. It will also show in brackets how many orders they've placed in total.

This would require a sub-query against the order database for every order returned and would significantly slow down the Order Manager page and the order export. As this is a "nice to have" figure, we felt it would be best to use this on the Order Processor page only.

Thanks, I had seen the update and found it very useful. Because our business relies heavily on return custom I was hoping that the new feature meant we could also search for example every new customer in the last 3 or 6 months who hasn't returned so we can target them - or at the least find out why they didn't come back!!

Rich has answered - makes sense!
