Product tab question?

Hi

When adding a new product you have the 3 tabs below the image (Information, Example Tab, & Customers Reviews. I have edited the "Example Tab" and changed it to features, so I can put a brief description in the "Information Tab" and then have the main features under the "Features Tab".

This was my theory but unfortunately when I change the content of the "Features Tab" it changes it to the same for all of the products so they all say the same. How can I change it so that each can be edited to there specific product?

Hi Jodergas,

You will need to use the custom content fields found within each product (found under the Channels tab), then add the corresponding custom content field variable to the product tab; like so.

%product_custom1
%product_custom2
%product_custom3
%product_custom4
%product_custom5

The tab just needs to contain the symbolic reference e.g. %product_content is Product Content

I think you have put the Page Content or whatever text straight into the Global tab.

Sorry to sound really dumb but I don't really get what you mean. Is it possible you could put it in more simple terms for a novice like me.

In the product manager for any given product look under the channels tab and you will see custom data 1, custom data 2 etc

So for example you might want to use custom data 1 field to enter the features of the product.

In the tab manager create a tab called features and then in the tab content enter the variable %product_custom1

When this tab is displayed for a product it will pull the content from the custom data 1 box. This will allow you to have different feature information for each product.

Don't forget to assign the features tab to the products in the product manager.
