    Free Gift Discount

    Hi

I am trying to create a discount and having a slight problem

I have all orders over £50 set to Free delivery, with under £50 at £3.99

The discount that I want to set up is - Buy Product X (£345) and get product Y (£12.95) for Free

It is working ok but it is charging delivery for the free product when I don't want it to. The £3.99 delivery is being added, even though the order is for £345. Any help would be appreciated.

In the meantime I have set it up as an addition, which works and might actually be a good enough solution.

    Thanks
    James

Not sure how you are setting up the free delivery. Are you doing it through the Shipping Manager and basing it on "value" and when the value is over £50 your threshold is £0.00 ? If so, do both products have the same shipping code e.g. "A" ?

Also, check the "free shipping" setting on the discount properties tab.

Red Devil, thanks for the reply, sorry I didnt get a chance to respond today.

I have set up a general shipping method in the Shipping Manager with thresholds set at
      0 - £49.99 priced at 3.99
£50 and over priced at Free.

Both products have a shipping code of A.

It works as expected when the two products are added to cart separately. It is just when I try to set up the discount that is insists on charging £3.99 for delivery, even though I have set it up as Free Product and ticked the Free Shipping box, see screen shot below.

Don't know if this will have any bearing but change "Discount Type" to "Value". Then in the Threshold put "From Unit 1" and "Discount £ 0".

I can see that for some reason the cost of the free item is not being added to the total price.

I would have to spend more time on this to work it out. Perhaps someone else knows the answer?
