    Being a muppet - HELP !!!

OK - I know I'm being a complete muppet but I just cannot work out how to offer free shipping. Basically, we're opening to the public one day a week from tomorrow and need to be able to process the orders through the website (to keep our stock levels straight) , but be able to type in a code that will give the visitors free shipping as they're collecting from us.

Can anyone please pointy me in the right direction ? n I've looked and looked and looked and can't find out where to do it

    Thanks
    Sarah

Just set up a shipping method that is free, call it collection if you like and tick the box Require customer collection: at the bottom

Hi Sarah, we have free shipping if you spend over £2000 so whilst it's not exactly what you're after it should point you in the right direction. Head on over to Catalog->Discount Editor. In there select Free shipping. Although having just said this, we also offer collection from factory. Why can't you set up a collect from shop in your shipping editor? - You can also exclude days it's not available on, that might suit you better? Hope this helps.
      Regards,

      Adrian

          Hi Sarah

I have created a Shipping Type in Shipping Manager called "Collect from us", check the box "Require Customer Collection" and in Thresholds have from 0.1kg upwards for £0.

You can see this as a permanent option when you view your Basket on my site - www.allmylinen.com

          Hope this helps

Go to Discount Manager and create a new discount called 'Free Shipping'. Set it to All Products, give it the code you want, tick free shipping and set the threshold to +1 unit with 0% discount. That way the free shipping is only visible if you know the discount code.

              Sarah

Go to discount manager and set up a discount called Free Shipping.
Set Style as Create Qualifying Thresholds
              Set Type as Discount
Set Qualifying Price Codes as All ( Global Discount )
              Tick Mixed Products
Enter a code - fs for example
              Enter Start and Finish Dates
              Set Threshold type to Value
              Set Discount type to Value
              Tick Free Shipping
              ..................
Don't put anything on the page under the Promotion tab
On the Threshold page set it from 1 to a high number.
              -----------------
Then when you process orders from the people who are collecting from you, type fs in the discount code box at checkout and it will take the shipping off.

I have a "collect" option for exactly the same reason as you. Customers do come and collect their goods from me. So, in the shipping manager, i created a shipping option simply called "to collect". Assigned a value threshold £0 - * with a cost of £0.00

Works perfectly, and the customer can order online and select this collect option, or you can simply use it when putting telephone orders through (using moto) for customers that collect

If this doesnt make sense let me know, and I will try to explain it better
