    Pasting Meta Descriptions

When we load a product we automatically copy it and paste it into the meta description. When we do that now, it doesn't read the spaces. I have started copying it from source but it leaves in the html. Will this impact on the meta description, ie will it show?

    Thanks

Copy it from the WYSIWYG editor into Notepad and then into the Meta Description. Notepad removes any HTML formatting.

There is also a way in the CSV feature to export/import and strip out the HTML i.e. export the product description and import it back into the meta description with the "strip HTML" option set - but this should only be done with extreme care. Always take a full backup first.

Thanks Dave. CSV won't help as we add products every day. Just have to settle for notepad! Or this a way of making me think even harder to produce another description for every item!

Much quicker! Why can't I ever think of doing that!
