Feature Request - "Free Delivery on this item"

I'm assuming this isn't possible currently, so please add this to your list of feature requests...

Can we have the option of adding a (customisable) message along the lines of "free shipping on this item", somewhere in the custom html/product page section?

This would display if the product cost more than the threshold on the free delivery. eg. delivery is set to free over £30 and the individual product costs more than £30.

Optional: The text could change to a second message "your order qualifies for free shipping" if the current order total is higher than the threshold.

I realise this information is displayed in the basket, but a) not everyone looks in the basket as they go, and b) it should help conversions if the customer is told, as they look at the product, that they will get free delivery.

I tried them in the product area and they were both blank...

In the Product Editor, tick the Free Delivery on the Value Tab, then in the Additional content (on the Contents Tab) you could type something along the lines of FREE Postage & Packing on this item (UK Mainland only) as we have done on this product

Sure, but you could also just add the text to the product description.

But if you have a lot of products it's a very long winded way of doing it - and having to redo it if you change the free delivery threshold...

The reason for adding it to the Additional contents rather than the product description is that it is where the important info is, such as price, brand, availability
You could use Discount manager and use product price codes to activate it, as a workaround , then if you change the free delivery threshold, just stop the discount

Unfortunately, it seems you can only have one 'discount' per product, and many of ours already have a discount of one kind or another...
