Can anyone help me with the following?

I want to do an offer of buy a collar and lead set and get the dog lead at half price.
I have been to discount manager and assigned dog leads at 50% discount. This has worked fine, if you order a collar and lead than you get 50% off at checkout. But if you order just one dog lead and no collar it still gives you a 50% discount.

Anyone know what I'm doing wrong on discount manager?

Hi Lilly,

We don't use the discount manager but I think if you select buy all in a set for a discount for the discount style you can apply a discount and select the products this will apply to? This probably will not be ideal and may take some tweaking with discount % because it will apply it to both products in the set

You could always create a collar & lead set product code and do it this way but then this will cause problems with your stock

If I think of anything else will let you know but maybe someone who use discounts will be able to help more than I can!

Yeah I looked at that option, it works if you do that as you then have to choose two items to get the discount but in discount manager it only lets you assign three products to the discount. So I can only give the discount to three dog leads and not all of the dog leads. I must be missing something and brain is feeling very muddled!

Oh think I figured out actually! you choose apply to all purchases and that gives you a category and also a product section where you can assign as many products as you want! At last !

oh I give up, still not figured it out, you can still just buy a dog lead and get a discount on it with out buying the collar!

Lilly, I don't think that this particular discount is possible. If you only had one choice of collar and lead, it would be fine. But if there are different choices for your customers to choose any collar, any lead etc I think that it cannot do it because a discount can only be set up to include each product once.

I had a similar issue recently and in the end I just put the offer on the website and manually adjusted peoples' orders.

Hi Lilly

We do what I think you want with our Fropper parent handle - you get it half price if you buy it with the Fropper. See here http://www.fatbananafeet.com/foot-to...y-ride-on.html. The handle appears as a selectable option (you can make it mandatory too) which they can choose to buy or not, as they wish.

The way I set this up was to create an Addition via the Addition Editor called "Half Price Parent Handle!", and set the price in here to what I wanted (50%). I then put this addition against the Fropper via the Additions tab in the Product Editor, and viola!

If you want a choice of collars, just create more additions.

This way there is no need to set a discount against the collar or lead on its own.
