Can you change the red cross to a green tick when something is out of stock?

If something is out of stock you get a red cross next to the item. I get some of my items as special orders however, because of a problem with one of my suppliers deliveries are taking longer than usual so I wanted a different message next to the availability option.

I know I can remove the icon but can I actually change the red cross to a green tick for items that are physically out of stock? Or should I leave it 'in stock' by having an order qty of 100 and adding a message.

Here is the link to the item I am talking about: http://www.lingerie-heaven.com/balco...-superbra.html

I think that this supplier has cut down on their staff as it was taking 3 days and now they are saying minimum 7 working days. I've waited 2 weeks so far and I would rather my customer be aware there is a wait as some do seen happy to wait for their goods for a small saving.

What are your thoughts on this?

    Thanks

    Hi,

Would the special order function not work better for items like this? In the quantity box, put SPO instead of 0 and then go to the language manager and change the wording of the phrase to describe the stock there. If you have various special order products with different availibilities, you could always put "special order item - please see below for lead time" and then use the additional information in the product editor to write how long each product normally takes.

By default, I think that SPO items have a green tick as standard. I do believe that you can change this in the template editor but I'm not 100% sure where / how!

We hav adapted the SPO function to say delivery 3-5 days for items that we get shipped from Germany. The green tick still appears and most customers are happy that they are informed and we get less calls and emails asking when their delivery is going to arrive.

The star icon in the Order manager changes and also changes in the customer account.

Sounds like an amber coloured icon with a 'stock due in x days/weeks' kind of thing would be useful?

I'm not sure you change it though - it would be a great addition to the SPO, if you could mark an item as 'stock due'.

One for Bluepark to add to the list?

Actually I've just looked and if you set the low stock threshold to one and set the stock to one, the product displays an amber triangle icon with the phrase 'low stock, immediate dispatch'.

You could change that phrase in the Language Manager to say "Please order - stock due in X days".

          It's a possible workaround.

Great, thank you, I never thought of that. I already use the SPO for the rest of my items where the suppliers are reliable, The product is a popular one and there are not many places that sell them but I will give the low threshold option a try.
