Variants on packing list - bug?

So I have a product (HC100-300E-1000) with 2 variants (HC100-300E-1100, HC100-300E-1200), and a customer chose one of those variants. Everything seems fine everywhere, including on the packing list screen where it shows the correct part number:

But when the dispatch note is printed it shows the wrong part number:

Is that a bug? If not it's still confusing - when I print the page I expect it to print these same information, not start swapping numbers around...

One is a 'Part Number' the other is a SKU. Have you checked that the SKU HC100-300E-1200 has the correct part-number, i.e. HC100-300E-1200?

You're right, although on every product on my site the SKU and Part number are identical, on the varient screen the SKU for the varients was correct but the part number was blank. So that's an ommission on my part. And it seems if the part number for the varient is left blank it defaults to the part number of the main item.

But that goes back to my earlier point - why have one value on the packing note screen and another on the printout of the packing note screen. That's just confusing...

You can choose what to print on the Dispatch Note. Go to Configuration > Order and scroll down to the tick boxes for the Invoice and DN.
