News Ticker / Manager - What?

I've seen many references in this forum to a News Ticker that can be setup by going to Content->News Manager. However, that option doesn't show on my admin system at all.

However, I can see there is a block called News Ticker which I can assign to a page, but there appears to be nothing in the help system to tell me how to use it, put messages into it, etc?

HI Andy,

I haven't used it in a while, but I am pretty sure it takes it feed direct from the headlines of your news section within BP. In terms of setup it should be just like a block, but I would make sure you have a trial post in your news section (or blog).

You need to have Business Park or Enterprise version, the blog or news feed (depends how you want it) will be under content tab.

Don't think that's correct Graham. I believe this feature is available in all versions of Bluepark. You might be getting mixed up with the bulk e-mail newsletter feature which is only available on Business and Enterprise versions.

Stand corrected, yes it is on all (seem to remember it wasn't originally, but maybe wrong, a long while ago..)

Andy, under configuration 4th tab is News or Blog, and all settings are there, then under 'Content' you can add articles as News or Blog,
Then there are blocks that display the feed and first few headlines etc., worth doing, we get lots of visitors via that for free.

Thanks all, I found it as you say under Configuration->Blog. A strange place to hide it, I think.
Can't understand why the help system didn't seem to find any info on how to find it.

Yes it was discontinued for all those not using it. For sites using it they still have this function.
