Dropship suggestion (that I feel we should ask for)

    Good morning everyone,
This i my first time using the forum though i have been using bluepark for years now. I would like to make a suggestion for Dropshipping that should be beneficial for all users and would iron out a lot of supply chain issues. As a brief summary (so you can see if this post is relevant or not to you) this is the key issues and potential solutions:

We currently have various companies set up as drop shippers. Each account for them is set up with contact names, details, numbers etc including what they charge us as a supplement to send to our customer direct (this last point being very important).

In some instances my supplier does not have the item in stock and we have to source the item from another company. We ALWAYS check the supplier has the item in stock to avoid customer disappointment at the time of order. In the event that the drop shipper has zero stock, we often have to source from an alternative supplier. In this event we go through the order processing page as normal and click the shipped button. However, it will STILL email the order to the original supplier who doesn't have the item. This means we can have 2 duplicate orders shipped to the customer (as the original drop shipper might put it on back order from receiving an automatic email order AND the order we will have placed with the alternative supplier).

In a second scenario, we occasionally have stock at our own branch that we would like to dispatch first, rather than email the order directly to a drop shipper. This can be due to clearing dead stock, perishable dates or through sometimes bulk buying from a manufacturer certain popular items (for increased discount or because we can send carrier to a customer at a fraction of the price my supplier might charge). Clicking the shipped button for the item again will send an automatic order to the supplier despite us wanting to ship from our own stock (potentially resulting in the customer receiving 2 orders).

The only way we can get around these issues is to have drop shippers set up, but have their email set to our email address. This way the order goes through, charges the surcharges we would need to pass on and doesn't place orders we don't want going direct. The downside to this is we get 3-4 emails for every dropship enabled order coming into our inbox.

The most basic solution as far we can see is:
Create a button so we can turn on and off automatic emails to each drop shipper within their account. For example: we might want all dropship emails to "ACME ltd" to go through but all the ones to "Widgets Ltd" be processed manually?

    OR

The best solution we can see is:
Create a button on the "Order Processor" page, within "Order Toggles" to check "drop ship" or not.
This would be the best option, as you could decide what happens to each item line as you process it.

Furthermore, within each "supplier account" you could edit whether the "drop ship" check box (on the order line toggle) is prechecked always or not. For example: We know ACME Ltd always have the items in stock, so their dropship box is always checked (and has to be unchecked on some occasions); and Widgets Ltd don't always have great stock levels, so their account always has the dropship box automatically unchecked (as we may need to source a product from another supplier). I image this would be massively convenient for lots of Bluepark users, where if they have a great supply chain with no product shortages, they can have dropship checked for all their suppliers as normal and would never notice any difference to their system.

What are your opinions? It would save ourselves and lots of other users a tonne of paperwork and allow us to be flexible with customer demands rather than losing sales or duplicating orders. If you do think this is a good idea how do we go about making these changes happen?

Thank you for your time and I look forward to hearing your thoughts

We have too been his with this issue and had the same work around of using our own email address and forwarding the dropship email to the supplier. The other thing we used to do when sending from our stock was to remove the email from the supplier settings, mark the order as complete, then put the supplier email back in. Its okay once or twice, but to have to do this on regular occasion is a bit of a pain. Would love to see something change on this front!
