Point Of Sale System

We're looking at re-opening our physical store and so need something that will manage stock levels: A person buying a widget in the shop should result in the stock level going down by 1 in BP. We don't need much else as card processing and financial side already taken care of. Any suggestions?

Have you thought about having a mini app programme written that works through the api.

I recognised some of those words.... While I get what the API can do in theory, my limited experience only goes up to pulling assorted bits of data out, I wouldn't know the first thing about about actually manipulating the database. Say this were something we wanted, any idea how / who to go to?
