Navigation woes!

What I thought would be a simple change has got me pulling my hair out!
I'm sure I must be missing something obvious and would be grateful of a point in the right direction

We presently have our navigation bar more or less matching our category layout, but when I am trying to add another level to our navigation bar, I can't seem to find what I need.

Presently we have a main heading: Protein and sub categories underneath, eg. Natural protein, Whey protein etc, with Protein being the parent category.

Protein>
Whey Protein
Natural / Plant Protein
Protein Bars & Snacks

However, as we are adding many more products, we now wish to make Protein a Sub-category of Sports Nutrition.

Like this:

Sports Nutrition>
Protein>
Whey Protein
Natural / Plant Protein
Protein Bars & Snacks

The problem I have is when I try to move the Whey Protein category to the Protein category (which is a sub-category of Sports Nutrition), the Protein category does not show up in the drop down menu for the Parent link. Sports Nutrition is there, but not the Protein category!

Am I missing something or does BP not allow more than 2 levels deep on the navbar?

Hi Neil, no there's no products in the Protein category, but there are in the sub-categories

Have you checked in the navigation manager that List sub-categories below is ticked ?
