Does anyone print their own barcode labels?

If so, what s/w do you use/any recommendations?

Yes - we use a Dymo Labelwriter 450 - There is a Bluepark hosted site that sells them:

The Dymo label printer software itself is pretty good and easy to use / design your own labels plus easy to use a CSV file as a data source if you need to print a lot of labels.

Dymo also have some plugins and command line tools that we use with our inventory system to produce the labels automatically for us.

We have both a Dymo 450 and a Brother QL 570.

For barcode printing we only use the Brother as it is easy to connect an auto updated Excel file and then basically select the product and how many labels you want. This isn't as easy with the Dymo as it's mail merge capabilities are much more limited, especially if you are printing different quantities for each product. If you don't have too many products then this advantage does diminish.

Having said that, I think the Dymo print quality is slightly better, even compared to the High Quality print setting on the Brother and the Dymo add in for Word & Excel can be useful for address labelling. We don't use any plugins and or CLT's with our Dymo though so based on Grant's response it maybe worth investigating that.

If its for products - Depending on the qty you use, you may find it cheaper to get printed properly - and also they are much better quality wise.
