Infos on selling from UK to US, Canada, Australia (and Europe?!)

Hi I am selling to UK only on my bluepark website
I am not VAT registered

I would like to be able to send to US/Canada/Australia and Europe - I know about the shipping and ticking countries etc and applying the shipping for each country but my question is what about the TAXES and DUTIES ... I have googled and not had much success ....

I also have an Etsy shop and they take care of all of that (the calculations and customers pay the tax and etsy submit to.. well whoever they submit it to.?? ) so at the moment I just use that platform - the tax rates seem to vary from country and states in US too so its a bit difficult to understand the rules etc simply too - how do I workout/add the tax ? how do I do that ? and what about the duty ? (Etsys fees are crazy to be honest that's why I am looking at my own website to encourage sales through)

How hard is it to set up ?

Or shall I just sell at my normal prices and add postage - ?? I know when I sell via etsy to Ireland or Italy for example the taxes are a lot ? I would like the customer to see this before they check out ? what to do????

Tbh, taxes to non-EU countries like the USA, Canada, Australia etc have always been the responsibility of the buyer.

The carrier contacts the customer once it's passed through customs in the buyers country, and they hold the package until they get payment.

All you need to worry about is making sure you get shipping charges correct, as undercharging can prove costly (Speaking from experience).

Since Brexit, shiping to the EU is a nightmare, so we haven't shipped there since 2020.

thank you !! I was thinking that just to suck it and see - maybe put a note on the check out page to mention small tax charge etc - just makes the process a bit longer for customer ? I will try it out ! thanks x
