    Hi Carol,

I assume they make their money by charging the people that advertise. Whether it's a one off fee, cost per click or commission fee I have no idea because as you say there is not much information on the website.

    Perhaps drop them an e-mail?
    Regards,

    Dave

      Hi Dave
I submitted my site earlier, they just emailed back to say they will have a look at my site sometime today, so will wait and see, still no mention how or what they charge

Thanks Carol, you will have to let us know how you get on if and when they get back to you.

How did you get on with this?

We have just added a voucher code to the site and wondered if you knew what would happen next!!

              Hi,

in a previous life i used a lot of the type of sites.

The usually run vouchers based on affiliate schemes, i.e. the promote your vouchers and they get a cut - which is why site opens in a new window.

They do list non affiliate sites, but you go to bottom of list and get a fairly b rate service - as you would expect with not paying anything.

There are a lot of the codes sites, but 2 of 3 get about 95% of the web traffic so don't waste much time on the other ones. (www.myvouchercodes.co.uk and www.vouchercodes.co.uk )

If you have an affiliate scheme and want to use these type of sites there are a lot of pitfalls, but can work very well.

              hope this helps

              Andy

                Hi,

Update on the voucher site, we added a code on vouchercodes.co.uk where it says submit a code and it is now on the site. We didn't add it as a company just used our personal email address, seems to have worked. We didn't get any confirmation just went on and checked.

Will see if we get any traffic from it.

Thanks for posting this OP. They accepted my code and I've had a few visits today (but no-one buying, viewers are viewers though). They have not asked me for anything, nor have they said they are charging me anything.

                    We shall see.

I live in hope of 'making the big time' one day!!

Ooh, goodness. They have set me up on the clothing list, and they must have got that info and the logo off the website as I never gave them a thing and they said they would check the site and the prices and I never heard anything else. That feels kind of weird really as I never checked just thought they would mention the code on some page or something. I was going to change my logo as well.

Did you give a good code? To be honest it's worth giving a bigger code to the small-ish number of people that will see it and to get them looking. I am selling cheap though, cheaper than cheap really and almost at cost on some items - so maybe this is why they added me.

Stripey, maybe you'd like to add your name in your sig like we have all done so there is a link to your website, then maybe we could give you some tips and have a look at what you sell. If you want that is.

Let us know how you get on with the voucher codes and whether you get any sales. Our profit margin is so low on toners I don't think it would be worth doing. However, the margins are much better on my wife's forest bears site so it maybe worth considering for this.
                            Regards,

Well, funny you should mention this. I literally just posted on this as I've just found lots of things on Google via 'the sun' website that I have been talking about (one handed surfers..... ) so now I am thinking I should be removing my details from the sig. I figure I've got enough business from elsewhere to not to worry about it being on here anymore. I never realised that these would all be pciked and be seen by anyone. Surely the point of having these threads is so that we can chat to one another about business and stuff and have our links in the thread.

I think I should change my user name as well and restart then as it is picking that up. Can I change my user name??
