Feedback Please - Almost Ready for Launch!

    Hi Everyone,
Feel I know many of you already from reading your messages and advise to other BP users and hope you can give me feedback on my website that is almost ready to launch!
Started back in January with almost no knowledge about web development etc and what I knew about coding you could write on a postage stamp! Over time I’ve learnt a great deal but also realise there is still so much more to learn.
Please could you check out the website http://bp177.betapark.co.uk/ and let me know your thoughts and advise.
    Thanking you all in anticipation.
    Kevin

    Welcome to Bluepark

    1. Add your business address to the Contact us page. People like to know who they are dealing with.

    2. Some of your prices are £9,999 - I think these are default prices that will need changing before the launch.

      Hi Kevin,
I can see you have been busy since Feb! That's a lot of site to create in a relatively short time.
I agree with Red re pricing. Also check some of the offers because the offer price is showing higher than list price. The test on one of the apex shed pages is all in heading style so you need to check that the h1 or h2 you have used is closed. Some of your images loaded slowly - could be my connection but have you optimised the images for web?

        Hi Red Devil and Gilif,
        Thanks for your advice.
        Good point about contact page.
Should have said the pricing has yet to be completed.
Will fix the h1/2 tags and check every page before launch.
The images have been optimised and sized at 600x600 and are generally than 30-80kb each. Should the quality be reduced further?
        Thanks again.

Well done, Kevin ... agree with D and G, and you've done a lot of work - you have a lot of product and detail in there.

I downloaded one of your category images at random, and it was nearly 300 kb - and a greyish png, not a jpg. So the page did load slowly. If you're using Photoshop Elements, use the Save for Web feature or try http://www.webresizer.com/resizer/

I happen to be in Switzerland at the mo, and wondered what shipping would be ... suggest turning off the option if it is always going to be invalid, and you are just a UK supplier.

Also, I like to see T and C's (steal ours as a model if you like), delivery info etc. - perhaps your footer could have these links, or one more section in the Nav Bar? Delivery info I finally found as a product tab ... can you not make a more general page as well?

BUT - it looks great, so well done. And I hope you might give a BP discount, as I might be in the market for a greenhouse later this year!

          Good luck with it
          Chris

            Very nice job!
There is no apostrophe in plurals - "Guarantee's" in the scrolling images.

Thanks Chris and Earthrise for taking the time out to give your
              feedback.

On checking I have all the category images as large png files! Thanks
for guiding me toward the error and for the webresizer link as this will
be very useful. I could have done with the rounding option much sooner as
              photoshop is a challenge!

Good point about the shipping and is now turned off.

Thanks for the offer of the T&C although already have these but hadn’t assigned
anywhere. Now including in the footer (footer needs more work but it will have
to wait for now!). I agree a ‘general’ delivery page would be beneficial and
will add this to the list of jobs to do.

Chris, happy to offer a discount to you and fellow BP users. Just drop me a
line or give me a call when you are ready.

              Thanks again.

Would you mind if I use your T&C's as a template for mine? - been scouring the net all afternoon for suitable & appropriate ones.

I stared at just a background of wooden planks for ages, nothing else loaded. Also, on Our Toys, what look like product links don't do anything? Sorry, one more thing, on your home page, when it did finally load I clilcked on the toy lion and a new window opened up to NOTHS? I wasn't expecting that so you might want to add some text about it?

Same here, very slow to load on my laptop, same with your product links, they seem dead, only ones that work are the ones leading away from your site to NOTHS
