Hi Neil, I've just uploaded my images to google with watermarks and I'll let you know what happens!
But I would feel happier with an overlay system, last thing I want is a goole ban!
I wonder if it's possible?

I mentioned the Magento idea to Rich, but of course I hadn't considered that the image would need to be modified creating two sets of images and making storage more of a problem and if the watermark is added every time a request is sent for the image, then the site would to some extent become slower and we don't want that!
I think it may be wiser to concentrate on providing a better service and not to spend time worrying about images being taken.Comment

This is without doubt a very handy feature that we exploit for our clients... just out of interest how did you get on with your Google Product feed, any issues?I'm about to upload all of my products to google product feed which I noticed has a policy of absolutely no watermarks on product images. I'm going to have to remove all of the watermarks from images that I painstakingly watermarked.....grrrrr!
In my experience I would not recommend Magento and in my opinion Bluepark is a much better platform with amazing support, but I did notice this nifty feature that Magento uses, automatically overlaying a watermark http://www.magentocommerce.com/knowl...age-watermarks
If this meant that images could still be uploaded to google product feed without the watermark that would be a great feature for Bluepark. Of course, otherwise it would be a useless feature!!

Sorry for the late reply...no issues with Google product feed. The watermarks on my images were not pulled up at all. Though there have been big changes at Google shopping since we spoke...no more free listings.....Boo!Comment

I know this thread is old, but I was looking for the disable right function. Thanks, have got that sorted now

It's not worth the hassle in disabling right clicks as it's so easy to copy images even with the right click disabled.Dave

Unfortunately even with watermarking if they want your images they'll take them, plenty of software out there to remove watermarks from images. One of my suppliers sent me all their images (watermarked) and I just removed the watermark from the images I wanted.Dave

Why not try digital watermarking software. This is often used by professional photographers to control use of their images online. You can trace where the images are being used. Licensing information is encrypted into the images with links back to your site. Usually about $50-$100 for about 1000 images.Comment

Be careful with Google, we had to remove ours and post them links to prove they were gone. Even when we removed them it was some time before the feed was updated and they kept saying they were still there until it did update. You may be fine but its a risk.RichardComment

We just received the dreaded letter from google to remove all water marks from the images, other wise our account will be suspended.
Just about to go through every image and remove the logos the hard way.
Can anyone help with an easier way? for example if i adjust all the large images all the smaller images can be recreated?
